CRACS Seminar: Computing on a budget, a system's engineers prospective

15 March 2017

Christopher Harrison is a systems engineer working at the University of Wisconsin - Madison within the Biostatistics and Medical Informatics Department.   His work has been focused on enhancing research computing for large scale analysis, specifically optimizing for genetic sequencing analysis.   Genetic sequence analysis requires a number of novel security and system profiles which provide a platform for conducting large scale genome and population genome studies.   Areas of expertises include distributed computing, security, compliance, networked data warehouses and systems integration.   Christopher has also worked in academia and for the private sector including Fortune 500 companies, startups and his own startup.
